Unfortunately, the Vienna tourism market has been flooded with illegally operating companies, many based in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. These operators often advertise significantly lower prices on major booking platforms while failing to comply with Austrian regulations.

Please note:

• They do not hold the required Austrian travel agency license.
• They do not comply with local passenger transport (taxi license) laws.
• They do not comply with Austrian labour law.
• Any tour that starts and ends in Austria must be operated by an Austrian-registered company.

Once you are picked up in Vienna by a car, minivan or bus with Slovakian or Czech license plates, whether for a cross-border day tour (e.g. to Budapest, Bratislava, or Prague) or a domestic tour within Austria (e.g. to Salzburg or Hallstatt), you are most likely dealing with an illegal operator.

In the event of an accident or any damage, you will not be insured.
